New Products

With a wealth of experience and moulding expertise within the Moorland Group, we strive to develop
new products to answer the demands of our existing customers and potential new markets.

Being the UK’s leading meter box manufacturer, architects, designers and builders look to us to add to our range to compliment modern house designs.

Compressions tooling is expensive and takes many weeks to manufacture so new products are introduced intermittently. Please monitor this area of our website for news of product development, we would welcome any suggestions you may have.

Picture of Bob driving over a Trench. We discovered that many of the trench covers used by civil engineering contractors were seen to be of poor quality and life span. In fact, when independently tested, it was proven that the trench covers in the market place did not withstand the weights stated. We designed a very strong and durable cover that, reinforced with a steel mesh, far exceeded the independent test parameters. Click here for More information about Trench Covers.

Picture of a large meterbox in situ. Traditionally, any 3-phase electricity supply could only be installed with the cable positioned through the wall cavity due to the only product available having a very narrow architrave. Mitras has developed a new large flush fitted electric meter box with an architrave deep enough for surface cable entry through knock-outs for ease of installation. The door is inter-changeable with the previous design. Visit www.meterboxes.co.uk for more information.

Picture of a Mitras semi-buried meterbox in situ. To answer the markets demands for a meter box to house the cheaper metal cased domestic gas meters, Mitras have developed the Mitras Semi-buried Gas Meter Box. This unobtrusive meter box has a specially designed matt, non-reflective, exterior finish and is fully approved by Sensus Metering, Krom Schroeder, GTCV, IPL, Core Utilities and British Gas Connections. A picture of a brown electric meterbox in situ. As planners, architects and builders are seeking ways of making meter boxes less prominent in the building design, Mitras Composites have introduced their most popular versions in brown and ivory colours. Builders no longer need to go to the trouble and cost of painting the meter boxes to comply with designs, home owners will no longer have periodic maintenance to contend with. Visit www.meterboxes.co.uk for more information.

Picture of a slimline electric meterbox. Some homes are becoming smaller as developers make better use of the space available in a plot of land. Where wall space is limited, the ‘Slimline’ electric meter box can be used as it is just one brick in width. Visit www.meterboxes.co.uk for more information.
